FEEDING THE MULTITUDES

Food Donation Connection

FOOD DONATION CONNECTION

We have partnered with a non-profit organization called Food Donation Connection who connects restaurant chains with other non-profits and churches for the purpose of helping combat hunger in our communities. Volunteers collect and freeze surplus food weekly and once a month we donate the food to Rockingham County's Migrant Education Program. The program distributes the food to migrant families with children in Rockingham County schools that are in need. If you have questions or are interested in assisting in this ministry, feel free to reach out to Pastor Matthew at pastor@glencoeumc.org. You can also go to their website and learn more at www.foodtodonate.com/.

REIDSVILLE OUTREACH CENTER

Glencoe has been donating non-perishable foods to the Reidsville Outreach Center for years. We have been committed to combatting food scarcity in Reidsville and Rockingham County. All donated goods are taken to the distribution center in Reidsville at least twice a year. Donations are always accepted, so, if you would like to help out, please contact Pastor Matthew via email at pastor@glencoeumc.org and arrange a time to bring it by the church. Or, alternatively, you should be able to bring your donated food items to Sunday worship when we come back!

The Reidsville Soup Kitchen

REIDSVILLE SOUP KITCHEN

On the third Friday of every month, Glencoe volunteers rotate the responsibility of cooking and serving food at the Reidsville Soup Kitchen. An average of 20+ men, women, and children come to the soup kitchen seeking food. We, and the soup kitchen, are always looking for more volunteers to help feed those in need. If interested, please reach out to Pastor Matthew via email (pastor@glencoeumc.org) and he will give you more information and connect you with a volunteer team leader.
