Our Family Ministries

Since we are a church that cares a tremendous amount for young people, we do all we can to provide fun, family events that everyone will enjoy! Throughout the year we have many special events designed to bring families closer together, closer to God, and to help us get to know one another better.

​We believe that offering meaningful programs for our children is one of the most important things we can do as a church. Each Sunday during our worship, we have a special time designed just for our children where they learn a biblical lesson. During this time, the children come to the front of the church and hear a special message that is crafted just for them. After this special message, they proceed to children’s church where they participate in activities designed to teach them the basics of the faith while they are having fun. We also like to incorporate our children and youth in worship, which includes singing and reading Scripture, but is not limited to these activities.

Throughout the year we have special programs for our children. We have an Easter egg hunt, Halloween and Christmas parties, a Christmas play, Vacation Bible School, and many other fun events. At Glencoe UMC, our children play a vital role.​

Children's Church

Every Sunday morning, we offer a brief moment with the children during the service and then they leave the sanctuary to attend Children's Church. It is during this time that the children are taught a lesson grounded in the Scriptures. Your children are in good hands on Sunday morning!

GLOW

At Glencoe, we believe it is of the utmost importance that children have opportunities to be in a safe space where they can learn about Scripture in creative and fun ways. GLOW is the name of our children's ministry here at the church and we are working to show kids the love of Jesus.

Vacation Bible School

Each Summer, we offer Vacation Bible to all children that want to attend. During our time together, valuable lessons from Scripture are taught and the children have an opportunity to have fun in the process! To learn more about this year's VBS, please click below.
